Have you heard of 'fika'?

So we hear you ask, what is fika? And what is fika focus?

fika (fee-ka) - a Swedish word, fika is a break in the day, a time to have a cup of coffee or tea, reflect and recharge.

Well, don't we all need a little fika in our daily lives! More than just a caffeine boost, fika is a much needed reset for the mind. This space, allows us to feel better and be more effective and purposeful throughout the day.

Despite the busy days in our store, there is always a moment to reflect. Whilst shooting the window displays in our new flagship store in Harrogate, we noticed the beautiful, bold and brilliant reflections that our new Maegen candlesticks make when the Spring sunlight streams in! Wow!

So, with Mother's Day coming up (take a look at our curated present edit here), why not take a fika moment to reflect on this thought-provoking quote by one of our favourite inspirational women, Maya Angelou:

To describe my mother would be to write about a hurricane in its perfect power. Or the climbing, falling colours of a rainbow.
- Maya Angelou, poet and civil rights activist

So grab a cuppa, a pen and a journal and take a moment to ponder, how would you describe your mother in a few words? And please share your musings in the comments section below.

And most importantly enjoy the reset!

My mama is a wonderful whirlwind of a woman. With a brilliant sense of humour and joie de vivre a plenty, she brightens up this world. Alhamdolilah we are blessed to share this journey called life together. Blessed to share the special bond of mama and daughter. Masha’Allah
