Curating - the latest news from Sally - The train on platform 3

I'm writing this as I sit at York station waiting for a train to Sheffield.
The sun is shining and I've managed to find myself a seat near the end of the platform with the sun slanting in under York station's amazing arches. I'm on my way to meet up with Paul who is helping his middle daughter and husband get settled into their new house. They have had two house sales fall through and with the twins possibly arriving next month they've been desperate to get settled into their new home.
I understand that Paul is currently painting the nursery for his grandchildren's arrival - a task that I'm sure he's thoroughly enjoying.

So the new Bias Gifting room is finally open with a range of lovely Scandi and European brands of perfumes, hand treatments, body creams, candles and diffusers. Those of you who know Bias will recognise some of the usual suspects: Bath House, Skandinavisk, Maegen, Ambustum, Hierbas de Mallorca, Bon Parfumeur and there are some new players such as Ashley and Co (a New Zealand brand), Lilac and Thyme, WXD Candles and a few more that are yet to be ordered.
There is still a lot of stock to arrive and luckily we have plenty of space.

The new Bias Malton Shop feels a little like a small department store with our main collection of more tailored clothing on the ground floor together with scarves, hats and jewellery. Upstairs the room on the left  houses our more casual collection - think Seventy + Mochi denim, Organic basics bralettes and briefs, Goose Studio sweats and now a lovely extended range of Coster Copenhagen with some great striped long sleeve tees and matching lounge pants. The room on the right is the room filled with gifts for the winter season (see images below)
One of my favourite stores in the UK is The Hambledon in Winchester; it was my inspiration when I first opened Bias on Bellenden Road, Peckham in 2012 and I would love to think we're looking just a little like them.

The rails on the ground floor are now very full as the entire Autumn Collection is gracing the shop floor; the second warmer collection from Mama b is out with three pieces in a wonderful heavier version of their soft cotton fleece - a pair of barrel trousers. a wide boxy top that would look fab over a jersey polo or long sleeve tee and a fantastic jacket with a tail at the back.

Gr Nature is looking great with a collection of needlecord and 100% heavy linen skirts, trousers and jackets. And we have two pieces of outerwear a gorgeous green jacket for £250 and a cream winter coat for £280. Given that they are both 100% wool they are good prices.
As I've said before it's difficult to find great imagery for these pieces so we're working hard to make sure you can see how good they look.
I was wearing the 'Romantica' Needlecord Tunic Dress in the store on Friday and I sold two that same day!

We are FINALLY making progress with the website! There is much to do but the Menu Bar is now sorted and you should be able to find the brands, read a little blurb about each one and find the lovely styles that I refer to here. As I say, there is much to be done but we are definitely beginning to get there and it's a delight for me to be saying that.

I'm off to see my step father for a couple of days, it's a good time to catch up with him and as he watches lots of sport, I can catch up on my paperwork as well as enjoy spending time with him.

I'll chat with you again soon, take care, Sally x
