Since the last time I wrote to you, I feel like I've been surrounded by great 'works of art' and so I'll share with you three particular special events that I've loved being a part of ...
On Friday I took a day trip to London to meet my family and celebrate the birthday of my wonderful niece Romy. Many of you reading this will know her as the 'face of Bias' during the years 2017 to 2020; she now works as Gallery Manager for the Long and Ryle Gallery in Pimlico and is really enjoying it. Coincidentally, a couple of weeks ago, a couple walked into the gallery who were from Harrogate and knew Bias well.
What a small world eh?
On Sunday, at the very last minute I managed to get tickets to see 'Monet In York'. So at 4pm on the very last day of the exhibition, me and one of my closest friends Mary, enjoyed being some of the last of the crowds to see the wonderful Water Lilies painting. Such a great move to see these works of art being loaned to galleries countrywide
And today, under glorious bright blue skies with a fair breeze, Anna, another very close friend, and I went to see the Tony Cragg Sculpture exhibition at Castle Howard. We chose to see the sculptures in the garden only, but on such a fine afternoon it was a great choice.
The exhibition continues until Sunday 22 September and if there are any of you who are in a position to see it over the next ten days, I would highly recommend it - especially if the skies are blue.
