I'm aware I haven't put pen to paper (so to speak) for quite a while ... it's been a busy time in the store and in my personal life too.
Last weekend Paul, Monkey and I went to Tealby in the Lincolnshire Wolds to stay for a couple of nights. We spent Saturday in Lincoln (no Christmas Market there this year due to the overwhelming crowds in previous years); it was still very busy but we enjoyed wandering the lovely cobbled streets and the cathedral looked spectacular now that that the front facade has finished its restoration. The first time the cathedral has not been clad in scaffolding since 1986!
The weather wasn't really on our side but we had a great walk across boggy fields and leaf strewn paths on Sunday and came across The Ramblers Church which was a delight with its stained glass windows depicting walkers and cyclists.
Then back to work on Tuesday and a busy week so far. The small winter collection from Sofie Schnoor arrived on Tuesday; just six styles but each and everyone of them a lovely piece. There's a couple of wonderful knits in grey and beige, a really cute boucle jacket just perfect with jeans, a beautiful black blouse which reminds me very much of the Baum and Pferdgarten pieces Bias used to stock in the early days and a pair of very nice tailored trousers in grey wool.
This week we also received our first ever collection of Hultquist Copenhagen jewellery. It's a brand I've been wanting to stock for some time now and I'm delighted to say we now have it in store.
It's a beautiful, fairly feminine collection with all pieces made from18 carat gold over sterling silver. There are small pearls and pretty diamante pieces worked into the gold that just look so pleasing and the prices range from £30 to £125 so a good choice for . If you're looking for something special this christmas for the perfect person in your life then I would take a look at this collection.
The last time I curated this mailing was just before our late night opening event in conjunction with Trouva - and what a lovely evening we had. Thank you, as always, to those of you who came along and enjoyed the wine and the mince pies supplied by Trouva, and showed your support for all small independent stores.
Hannah is back from her trip to Spain and Portugal and so I've been in the store on fewer days this week, however I'm really looking forward to a whole weekend of being there. I'm opening a little earlier at 9am today and at 10am tomorrow - just so you have even more time to look at the lovely collection we've curated for you.
I look forward to greeting and meeting you there.
I know there's a really busy week ahead for all of you, a late, last week of term for lots of our customers and the final preparations in time for the christmas days ahead. We're opening from 9am to 7pm on Wednesday 20, Thursday 21 and Friday 22 to help those last minute plans.
I hope you've enjoyed reading about my latest Bias news and I'll chat with you again soon, Sally x
