I've had a lovely weekend in the store; some great sales, lovely appreciative customers and enjoyable conversations. I'm just beginning to close up on Sunday afternoon and begin the preparations for a new week. Thank you to all the familiar faces who popped in to say "hello" and view our current winter collection.
Wasn't it wonderful to see the bright skies and sunshine on Friday and Saturday; yes the temperature has certainly dipped but with plenty of layers and a good Arctic Fox hat and scarf to wear, I love this weather
Bias seems to have weathered Black Friday Week rather better than it did last year when takings were severely impacted by this event.
I know it's difficult to avoid the huge reductions in other stores but I'm yet to be convinced that it's not just over consumption on a big scale and I'm not sure whether there are any real bargains to be had.
Thank you again to everyone who stayed loyal to those smaller stores who chose not to take part.
So our new label 'Odd Molly' arrived on Thursday; I absolutely love the styles and anyone in the store over the weekend will have seen me wearing either the fabulous Carol Vest or the beautiful Morgan Dress, both really special pieces. It's not our most affordable brand I admit, but its a quirky, stylish collection and I know some of you will love it.
On Thursday this week, 30th November, we have a very Special Late Night Opening in conjunction with Trouva so please join us for that if you can. Bias has been chosen as one of a number of 'special independent boutiques' for this shop small, late evening event and I'm led to believe there is a case of drinks arriving early this week for us to enjoy on Thursday. So please, if you havent been in recently, or even if you have, try and make it along for a toast to all small independent stores.
This week sees an expansion of our Pre Loved offer with the rails downstairs being used to hang out all of our current pre loved collection. We're aware we have a large number of items and want to give you the opportunity to purchase them for the holiday season.
We have glam, glitter, long, short and very casual if thats your bag!
If you've been having a clear out and have some things that you'd like to be in the collection then please bring them along to the store on Tuesday when I'll be in the store all day. Remember that anyone donating items to the collection receive 50% of the sale to spend as credit in Bias Store.
I'm having a well earned day off tomorrow, Monday, and then will be in store for the rest of the week. Early Thursday morning we'll be taking our Christmas store windows to the next level to fully embrace the beginning of December AND, as importantly, our LATE SHOPPING NIGHT on Thursday evening. I look forward to greeting and meeting you there.
