Curating - the latest news from Sally - The Bias 2024 Winter Launch

Well it's been a bit of a weekend!
Late on Friday evening we heard that Pauls' middle daughter Olivia together with lots of support from her wonderful husband Oli, had given birth to twins!
Everyone is doing well and in the next few weeks I'll share a photo of how beautiful they are.
Paul, understandably, is over the moon; Grandad for the first time!

I've just spent the last few hours loading new stock onto the website.
We have the wonderful cashmere blend socks from Catherine Tough arriving tomorrow together with the lovely felted slippers that we've stocked for the last few years and yesterday we had two big boxes arrive from Arctic Fox full of their gorgeous recycled beanies and scarves. With so many cosy goodies available in store and online, I've created a new collection called 'Gifts for Giving' on the website where you can see the range of colours and styles.

Of course we're getting very excited about our Winter Launch Event on Wednesday afternoon/evening. We have some lovely things taking place including a manicurist offering free mini manicures and hand/arm massages; a jewellery presentation of our latest jewellery collections and of course a fabulous catwalk with six models showing the very best of our winter collections including a little bit of glam and glitz!
There are pairing drinks to match the outfits we're modelling and Malton Relish are providing the finger food for each catwalk.
We're really looking forward to seeing you there.

There was one other very special event this week and that was the ninth birthday celebration for Millie, or Monkey, as I usually call her.
I find it hard to believe that she's been with me for eight whole years.
I picked her up from Immingham docks on 7th November 2016 and REAN (Rescuing European Animals in Need) the organisation she came from think she was probably about one year old when she came to me so that would make her around
nine years old here in 2024.
Those close to me will know how special she is in my life; keeping me company when I'm a little low and sad; being right beside me throughout lockdown just after mum had died and filling me with utter smiles and joy when she races around in circles every time we go
to the beach!
So I hope you don't mind me sharing this little montage of the many faces of Monkey - all of which I love!

My final note is to say that our later opening hours from 10am to 4pm seem to be going well with customers in the store all day long.
And don't forget, we have our extra special late night Thursdays on the 28th November and then the 5th, 12th and 19th December when we'll be open until 8pm for private bookings or late night shopping opportunities.

Once again to say we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Wednesday and meanwhile take care and we'll chat again soon
